Hands On Historic Athens
Hands on Historic Athens (HOHA) is a neighborhood revitalization initiative of Historic Athens that assists low-income homeowners with home maintenance projects in homes that are 50 years or older. The goal of Hands On Historic Athens is to keep neighborhoods intact through safe and habitable homes.
Common projects include:
Floor and ceiling repair
Minor plumbing
Roof/gutter repair
Yard clean-up
Painting
Accessibility modifications
Home weatherization
HOHA receives funding through Community Development Block Grant funds administered by the Athens-Clarke County Housing & Community Development Department. Hands on Historic Athens also relies upon local construction partners and volunteer groups whenever possible.
