​In Athens, GA, people have made national movements local. An example of such movements includes the Vietnam War protests in the late 1960's and the modern Black Lives Matter movement. At Historic Athens, we believe it’s important to preserve this monumental history because we want to inform future Athenians of the progress we have made.
